FAQ
Sorry, no.
The person responsible for the gears while it's being rented has to be the same person picking up, and paying the rentals for said gears. This is to cover our a** in case of any fraudulent activities.
Unless... You've built up sufficient trust with the company. Then we might just give you the keys to the locker. Who knows?
- Gear Pickups are only available after 1PM before your rental day.
- Gear Returns must be done before 11AM after your rental day.
- Gears must be booked at least 24 hours before your rental day. Some gears might not be available if you don't give us enough time to prepare them.
- Cancellations must be done at least 24 hours before your rental day. There's nothing really we can do if you're a no-show. But you'll risk losing karma points with us!
Good question. No we do not. However, the policy that makes the most sense for us is this:
- For rentals under $10,000 of total gear replacement value, we put a hold of 25% of the replacement value on your credit card.
- For rentals above $10,000 of total gear replacement value, no holds are required. Instead, you must provide us with a Certificate of Insurance, with OneTake Rentals listed as additional insured for the total gear replacement value.
You break/lose it, you buy it. Ownership of the gear will be transferred to you. In case it's able to be repaired, we'd give you the option of reimbursing us for the cost of the repairs. This is why we'd always recommend purchasing gear insurance, no matter the equipment costs.
If you stole it, well.. Hm.. You know we have your personal information, right? We'll let the cops deal with it.
In the end, it's pretty simple. Treat our gears the way you'd treat your own.
Yes, the answer is yes. Having directed and DP'ed multiple low-budget indie films myself, none of which would have been possible without the support of rental houses, I have a big soft spot for indie filmmakers. A part of me thinks I'm creating a rental house just to give back to the indie film community.
So yes, send us a pitch deck, and your gear list, and we'll work something out!
